November 7th, 2010As we always do, we have lots of new staff coming up. Besides the fact that we have a new musician artist every Wednesday… Mix Sashimi, Si didj, Rich Latimer and Gerry Nelson and more…We are also going to have a GREAT deal for you guys’ movies lovers …. We are also getting ready for the holidays, with great new specials on boards…We have a new sake that you are going to die for… the best I have ever had. Coming all the way from Japan home land of sushi and Sake… So good for you.
HAhhh I almost forgot to mention that we use such a fresh healthy ingredients in all of our food. Did you try the brown rice sushi????Yummmm this is art.

Music at all times
October 19th, 2010Every time I see Si at o-sushi, I tell him, It’s time for you to play for us. Australia’s culture music instrument is the didjeridu. An old Aboriginal voice from the past. We are guests on this beautiful land. We must not forget that the indigenous peoples were here long before we came. They used to walk about the land with no barriers nor boundaries. The music was their way to communicate and share knowledge. We can only learn from their openness and freedom of thought how to let go of our fears and stigmas. Let us open our hearts and our borders… Let in the world…
I am very excited to host such a special figure in our spacial restaurant.
Si told me once that he went all the way looking for the elder of a tribe to ask him if it’s cool that he uses the ancient instrument for the kind of music he plays. The elder said he needs to know if Si really knows how to play. So Si sat to play and play and play until the elder was satisfied.
He has justified his right to use the didj.. We are obliged to listen to him play…

What I am trying to say is that what we really need is peace within. Live in peace. We in Osushi believe that serving beautiful food that is made with love

The Holidays are coming and the full energy that it brings with it is awesome … All the people around the train giggling and chatting with each other The train is moving along some are getting off and new faces are hoping on … there is a movie next door or another glass of wine for the road …
Life is fun on the Autobahn … autobahn ( German, Austrian, or Swiss expressway.)

Coolangata wins I Love Food QLD
September 14th, 2010O-Sushi Coolangatta is Queensland’s favourite Japanese restaurant!
As a busy restaurant on the beautiful beach of Coolangatta, we manage to give amazing food and great quality service. The people have voted for us and the thanks go first to all of our regular clients who keep coming to us, rain or shine. We wait for them and we wait on them.

Big Things for O-Sushi
September 8th, 2010It’s been an exciting past week or so for O-Sushi!
Firstly, an arigato gozaimasu goes out to Natalie Gruzlewski. The celebrity television presenter did an interview with the Sunday Telegraph on August 29, saying the best meal she’s ever had was at O-Sushi Coolangatta. Seems the Channel Nine star loves our Kushi-Yaki Halloumi – well we love you too Natalie!
Then an even bigger ‘shout out’ for O-Sushi on September 1, with our Byron Bay restaurant named Australia’s favourite Japanese restaurant in the Lifestyle Food Channel’s ‘I Love Food Awards’. The results of the awards are put into an online Eat Out Guide. This is O-Sushi’s eighth award since opening six years ago – but by far the most prestigious.
And now we’ve got a write up in the Northern Star for our win!
All the attention is thanks to the great ongoing support we get from our community, and O-Sushi will continue to work hard to deliver fresh, delicious and exciting offerings.

Over 100, 000 votes were cast across the 26 categories – and many must have gone our way. So we’d love to say a big ARIGATO GOZAIMASU to all our wonderful customers who’ve made this possible.
