Australia's Favourite Japanese Restaurant
We want to extend a massive ‘Thank You’ to all our Byron Bay customers who voted for us in this year’s ‘I Love Food’ awards, because amazingly, for the second time running, O-Sushi has taken out the coveted title of “Australia’s Favourite Japanese Restaurant”!
It‘s an absolutely fantastic result for us, especially considering we’re in a relatively small town and we were competing with Japanese restaurants from cities and regional areas around the country. It just shows that what Byron lacks in size is more than compensated by engagement and loyalty – we love you Byron!
Dan Regev (founder and co-owner) is over the moon. ‘Thank you Byron customers,’ he asked us to tell you, ‘you‘re so supportive of what we do. Thanks for your feedback, both good and bad, because it helps is refine what we do so we can give you our best, freshest, healthiest and tastiest.
‘You have supported us since we opened in 2004, and without you we would never have opened O-Sushi Coolangatta or O-Sushi Broadbeach. We can‘t thank you enough.’

Hi,
My wife and I visited the Broadbeach O-Sushi bar on Saturday 7 Jan 12 (for my birthday) after travelling from Toowoomba.
The sushi was some of the best we have tasted, being fresh and full of flavour. The brown rice sushi was fantastic. The staff were awesome, able to provide excellent choices and assistance in choosing from the menu. I can’t remember her name, but it was a blonde waitress who provided us with much of our service (very friendly and definitely value-added to our dining experience).
Thankyou for making our sushi experience such a memorable one. One word, awesome! We would recommend to anyone and will be back for Anna’s birthday.

WHY IS THE RICE PURPLE?
Thursday, September 15th, 2011Why is the rice purple? All O’Sushi restaurants are mixing it up a little with black rice for our award winning sushi rolls. As well as brown and white rice, the use of black rice gives customers more options as well as variety in taste and nutrition. Black rice is traditionally used in south east Asia cuisine and is slightly sweeter in taste and softer in texture. Black rice also has excellent nutrition value and is high in vitamin E & D. So next time you visit O’Sushi, why not try something different and get your favorite sushi roll with black rice.
